CYPRUS GOLF RESORTS

As the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, the island of Cyprus has many connotations with the divine nature of beauty and desire, not least when it comes to its stunning natural heritage. Harnensing the potential offered by this unique resource, the island’s modern and exhilarating golfing greens, often envelope Cyprus’ natural features, making this one of the most impressive emerging golfing destinations in the Mediterranean.

Named after the Goddess of love herself, Aphrodite Hills Golf Club has become famed as a world-class venue, offering the pinnacle of challenges, including a dramatic gorge running through the course. Eléa Golf Club has proven to be a new star for the island, originating from the tactically unique conception of Sir Nick Faldo.

Minthis Hills is well-known for its unique, undulating terrain, as well as narrow fairways, while Secret Valley summons precision and skill to navigate around the course.

In line with the Strategic Tourism Plan of Cyprus, golfing tourism is an ongoing development, which seeks to continuously improve the island’s offering to the game’s enthusiasts as well as promote the sport as a fulfilling and challenging pastime. Each course provides an academy and top-quality facilities for golfers wishing to train and improve their game, with club Pros at hand to teach new skills. Exclusive lessons for juniors as well as beginners are available.

Already a booming tourist destination with year-round sunshine, Cyprus is the new jewel in Europe for golfers seeking breaks in the warmth of the eastern Mediterranean. It boasts the longest golf playing season compared to all other popular destinations in Europe.

SCUBA DIVING

Cyprus is the perfect place for diving with its warm and clear sea. The warm temperatures make it one of the longest diving seasons in the Mediterranean. There is no plankton in the waters ensuring great visibility. The underwater coastal reefs abound with a rich variety of beautiful underwater life. Sea turtles can be seen often. This is because of the turtle conservation project in place on the island. There are also stunning underwater caves and tunnels inviting one to explore them, plus the remains of shipwrecks and ancient amphora constitute a great underwater adventure.

Cyprus is your gateway to the magical wonders of the undersea world and the warm blue Mediterranean sea and is an ideal place for training due to lack of undersea currents and close proximity to all dive sites. In Cyprus divers of different abilities and experience are handled and treated individually to ensure that everyone gets the full benefit from their dive experience. Even children as young as eight years old can come and join a special program were they will experience all the wonders of diving with their own individual diving instructor.

SKIING IN TROODOS

Although Cyprus is a Mediterranean island bathed in glorious sunshine, you can indeed ski there. Troodos Mountain is 2,000 metres above sea level; here we have a ski centre that is open in the winter months.! The ski season in Cyprus typically lasts between January and April. Based on Mount Olympus, with four ski lifts and eight alpine ski runs the Cyprus Ski Club accommodates skiers of all levels on its picturesque runs. It also operates ski schools on site whilst also offering cross-country ski tracks. Equipped with four ski lifts, the ski centre also offers a restaurant and cafes in a pleasant and relaxing environment. In the Troodos area there are 2 hotels close to the ski resort and many more in the wider area of the region. In the winter you can find bargain prices for these hotels. Mount Olympus is only a few kilometers from the Troodos hill resort and only a short drive to the coastal city of Limassol.

There’s nothing quite like the experience of the Troodos Mountains covered in a blanket of glistening snow. While beholding splendid greenery and dense pine trees is one thing, the magic of panoramic views tinged with brilliant white is enough to seriously take your breath away as the whole district takes on a rather otherworldly appeal. Choose your Cyprus gives you the inside track on all the great things you can do as you head up to the island’s highest peaks. Dress warm, and let the fun and memorable times begin!
